The calendar may say July, but the MLB standings are starting to feel a whole lot more meaningful. With the All-Star break behind us, baseball's second half is officially underway, division races are beginning to tighten and every win is becoming a little more valuable.

Meanwhile, with the World Cup and golf’s final major behind us, all eyes turn to college football, which is set to kick off in just over a month.

Second-Half Standings⚾

The All-Star break is in the rearview mirror, and the second half is here. While a few division leaders have started to create some breathing room, many races are shaping up to go down to the wire.

The AL East remains one of baseball's best battles, with the Rays continuing to hold onto first while the Yankees keep inching closer. The AL Central has become a game of musical chairs, as the Guardians and White Sox seem to trade or share the top spot every few days. Out west, it's been pure chaos, with the Mariners, Rangers and Astros all taking turns looking like the team to beat.

Over in the National League, the Braves still control the NL East, but the Phillies aren't letting them get comfortable. The Brewers have quietly started to separate themselves in the Central, while the Dodgers continue to do what the Dodgers do, building a commanding lead in the West.

With roughly two months left to play, each series carries a little more weight. Expect plenty of scoreboard watching, late-season surges and at least a few division races that won't be decided until the final days of the regular season.
