PGA Championship: Scottie Scheffler (-11) Wins 3rd Major (1st Wanamaker) After Jon Rahm (-4) Tumbles on Back-9

Tack on another Sunday special? Yes, Scheff! Scottie Scheffler (-11) entered Sunday with a commanding four-stroke lead over the field in the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow after a blistering 6-under Saturday. By midday, Jon Rahm had come from nowhere to take a share of the lead, and it looked like he might do the unthinkable. He didn’t. Rahm collapsed miserably on the back-nine with two hooked drives on Hole 16 and 18 en route to seven-stroke defeat. Little drama down the stretch allowed Scheffler to have a late Sunday stroll to his third major championship — a drop of the putter and a spike of the hat. It was his first Wanamaker Trophy (PGA Championship) and 15th career PGA Tour victory (all since 2022).

Cody Bellinger’s Grand Slam Helps Yanks Take Subway Series in the Bronx

How ‘bout THAT ending to a New York weekend?! It was rivalry weekend in the majors. Amid the Knicks’ first trip to the Eastern Conference Finals in 25 years, the Yankees and Mets met for the first Subway Series of the season. The Pinstripes and Metropolitans split the first two games before an intense Game 3 encore. It was 2-2 in the 8th inning before the Yankees took the lead on a throwing error, then Cody Bellinger hit a grand slam to cap the series. A Belli blast!
