MLB Awards Week Keeps the Stars Shining

Hey Team đź‘‹

If you thought baseball season ended with the final out of the World Series, think again. The offseason barely exists when MLB Awards Week rolls around. Baseball’s best are still racking up wins — just in a different way. From Cy Youngs to Gold Gloves,  this week is all about honoring the game’s top talent.

AL Cy Young: Tarik Skubal (Tigers)

Detroit’s dominance early this season had one common denominator: Tarik Skubal. Detroit’s ace ended the regular season with a 2.21 ERA and 0.89 WHIP. As if that wasn’t enough, he tallied 241 strikeouts in 195 innings to finish with a 13-6 record. His lights-out performances won him his second consecutive AL Cy Young award.

NL CY Young: Paul Skenes (Pirates)

Last year’s Rookie of the Year became this year’s unanimous Cy Young winner. Paul Skenes joins an elite club as just the third pitcher ever to win both honors in his first two seasons. It’s safe to say, he’s living up to the hype — and then some.

AL Manager of the Year: Stephen Vogt (Guardians)

After helping the Guardians overcome the largest deficit in MLB history (15.5 games) to win the division, Stephen Vogt made history of his own by winning two consecutive Manager of the Year Awards during his first two seasons with a team.

NL Manager of the Year: Pat Murphy (Brewers)

While everyone had their eyes on the Cubs, Pat Murphy and the Brewers quietly took over the NL Central — and never looked back. Murphy’s masterful handling of a young roster earned him his second straight NL Manager of the Year Award, marking the first time ever both league winners went back-to-back.
