L.A. Owned Monday’s Marathon, but the Jays fired back in Games 4 and 5
Hey Team 👋
This week has brought good news all around. Baseball fans were treated to an unprecedented 18-inning marathon on Monday, and the World Series has been as competitive as ever. Meanwhile, football fans have plenty to celebrate too, with several NFL stars making their long-awaited returns — both to their teams and to your fantasy lineups.

Blue Jays Take Flight

What a ride it’s been! When the Dodgers started their playoff tear — complete with two sweeps — many assumed they’d cruise through the World Series the same way. But the Blue Jays have had other plans.
On Monday, Los Angeles and Toronto tied a World Series record with their 18-inning marathon that stretched until nearly 3 a.m. EST. The two teams were locked in a 5–5 deadlock until Freddie Freeman finally ended it with a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 18th.
Losing an 18-inning game to a walkoff is draining — both physically and mentally. But that didn’t stop the Jays. Just 17 hours later, Toronto stormed back with a 6-2 win to even the series.
On Wednesday, the Jays rode that momentum to reclaim the series lead after a 6-1 win behind Trey Yesavage’s gem.
World Series Schedule (Toronto Leads 3-2)
Game 1: Toronto W (11-4)
Game 2: Los Angeles W (5-1)
Game 3: Los Angeles W (6-5)
Game 4: Toronto W (6-2)
Game 5: Toronto W (6-1)
Game 6: Friday, Oct. 31 – 8:00 PM
Game 7: Saturday, Nov. 1 – 8:00 PM (if necessary)

Week 9 Injury Report

Photo: All-Pro Reels / Wikicommons
While the injuries on the gridiron haven’t exactly stopped, they’ve definitely slowed down compared with the first six weeks of the season. And at this point, any progress counts as good news. Even better, many players injured early on are eyeing returns, with many expected to be back in action this weekend.
Bucs fans, unfortunately, are facing some tough news with a glimmer of hope. After returning from IR in Week 7, Mike Evans went down again with a broken collarbone. If rehab goes smoothly, he could be back late in the season. Still, the setback means his streak of 11 consecutive 1,000-yard seasons will come to an end. On the brighter side, rookie running back Bucky Irving is trending in the right direction and could return in Week 10 following the bye.
While Tampa Bay has been managing its injuries for a while, Week 8 brought fresh heartbreak for Giants fans. Losing Malik Nabers early in the season was already tough, but New York somehow found a way to stay competitive. Behind the impressive play of Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo, the Giants looked like a new team. That was until Sunday, when Skattebo suffered a dislocated ankle. For fans willing to look ahead, though, there’s reason for optimism: A healthy Nabers-Skattebo pairing next season could be something special.
