The Winter Games Close as March Looms
Hey Team 👋
As the winter wind-down meets the March buildup, the sports world is in a rare moment of peak transition. This past Sunday, the torch was officially extinguished at the historic Verona Arena, marking the end of a record-breaking Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics that saw Norway reign supreme and Team USA reach new heights on the ice and snow.
But as one global stage closes, another is heating up right here at home. With the Olympic flame out, all eyes have shifted to college basketball, where the landscape is constantly shifting. From Duke’s ascent to the No. 1 spot to Miami (Ohio) defying the odds as the nation’s last unbeaten squad, we are officially entering the most high-stakes stretch of the season.

Last weekend’s Super Saturday delivered in a major way, but this weekend offers something just as special: Instead of a few top-heavy matchups, we are looking at a weekend chock-full of Top 25 drama, including five ranked-versus-ranked matchups on Saturday alone.
Miami (Ohio) remains undefeated, while the big dogs duked it out over the weekend (no pun intended). Duke soared to the No. 1 spot after a five-point win over Michigan, while Arizona slid into the No. 2 spot after a statement win over Houston. Meanwhile, the SEC had a big week in the poll, with Florida climbing five spots, Alabama climbing eight, and Tennessee forcing itself back into the top 25. On the other hand, Kansas and Vanderbilt each fell six spots after their respective losses to Cincinnati and Tennessee.

Norway retained its strong lead to claim the crown, while the U.S. lagged just behind in second place. The Netherlands kept us on the edge of our seats until the last minute, mounting a late-weekend push to top host nation Italy and claim third place.
