The path to the 2026 NBA Finals is narrowing as the Conference Finals are now underway, featuring two resilient franchises that just punched their tickets in entirely different fashions.
In the Eastern Conference, the No. 4 Cleveland Cavaliers outlasted the top-seeded Detroit Pistons in a grueling, physical seven-game semifinal series. Showing immense poise under pressure, the Cavs capped off their run with a decisive 125-94 blowout victory in Game 7 to secure a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Knicks.
Meanwhile, in the West, the No. 2 San Antonio Spurs have elite momentum on their side. Led by Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs took care of business versus the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 6, setting up a highly anticipated Western Conference Finals clash against the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder, who have swept their way to the Conference Finals.
The winners will punch their tickets to the NBA Finals for a chance to win the highly coveted Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.

Two-Gloved Triumph🧤

In a tournament that was a certified dogfight all weekend, Aaron Rai managed to pull away from the pack on Sunday’s back nine, delivering the kind of drama the PGA Championship is built for.
Golfers played musical chairs on the leaderboard all day, but Rai found an entirely different gear down the stretch. He gained a stroke, then another, and then practically blew the roof off Aronimink by draining a mind-boggling 68-foot birdie putt on the 17th. As the holes dwindled, the rest of the field was left chasing a pace nobody could match.
The breakthrough victory secures Rai his first major title, finishing the weekend at 9-under par after firing a spectacular 5-under 65 on Sunday. Beyond hoisting the Wanamaker Trophy, the historic win completely rewrites his future, locking down a lifetime exemption for the PGA Championship and five-year exemptions to the other three majors.
I don’t know about you, but the next time I head out to the course, I might just have to start wearing two gloves.
